It means, among other things, that little Bhutan, never once in the Forbes hall of fame, has trumped us in the new HDI ... There are at least 836 million Indians living on less than Rs. 20 a day, as the government's own report told us in 2007. Over 200 million of those get by on less than Rs. 12 daily.
